I was in the right lane of a four lane road with about five cars in front of me. The left lane was clear of any traffic. I see an unusual car in my mirror approaching in the left lane and was trying to figure out what the hell it was. At first I was asking myself if it's a new gen vette. When it went by it sounded like an Indy car or something. I'm now thinking that ain't no vette. Turns out it's a Lotus. So the guy slows down and rides beside me. I'm thinking this douche wants to show how he can smoke a 35 year old car. I pay him no attention. Well, what do ya know? I have to stop at the traffic light and now he's lined up next to me. So, I'm thinking he's going to go into super douche mode. But I look over at him to give a thumbs up and he's already giving me a thumbs up. He's signaling to roll down my window. He tells me how cool my car is. He said it's his favorite car of the era. I tell him he has the cool car. He shakes his head no. He proceeds to ask me question about my car. We take off and he simply merges in behind me. Turns out the guy is just a car nut. I'd like to have drank a beer with him and talk cars. My old Z still gets a lot of attention when I pull into a gas station. Lots of offers to buy it. I just smile and say you'd never give me what it would take to part ways.
